Here are 10 activities you can do for self-care wherever you are:
1. Donate
Don't do it frivolously. Find something that matters to you and donate to the cause. It doesn't have to be anything big. The time is getting cold, a cup of coffee goes a long way. Personally, homelessness is a big thing for me. I always try to give them a hot meal if I'm able. What's your cause? Find it and donate!
2. Make a Playlist
Music is an art form. It can evoke so many emotions and memories. It can allow us a great escape or snap us back to reality. Creating a playlist can be therapeutic. You can choose the theme and then go crazy! (i.e. On Repeat, Work Out, Moment Alone, Hype Music) It can work as nice creative outlet, if your looking for one.
3. Color/ Draw
The simplicity and monotony of coloring can be very relaxing. It can also help you get in touch with your inner kid again. If you need some inspiration, there are plenty of templates you could find online. They even have coloring apps for your phone!
4. Nail Maintenance
I know most ladies wear tips now. Due to COVID -19, not everyone has the luxury of going to the salon. But if you are still rocking natural nails, this is for you. Take a moment to yourself and groom your nails. Something so simple that is purely for you. If you're feeling adventurous you can treat yourself to some new polish or a new set of press-on's.
5. Self Pleasure
We are all grown. Masturbation is one of the best ways to relax yourself all by yourself. An activity that can be done anytime of the day. Masturbation is known relieve stress and release happy hormones. YAY HAPPY
6. Show Gratitude
It doesn't matter whom you believe in/pray to. Be sure to take a moment EVERY DAY to show gratitude for life. For all the blessings in your life, big or small. Be grateful for the bad times because there is either a lesson or a blessing to come.
7.Dance
"Get ya boots and ya coat!" Yasss ladies you know! It doesn't have to be this song of course. Choose your music, feel the beat, and let your body move. You can get lost in the music and just be in your own zone. When you tap back into reality, you will feel vitalized. Natural energy pill!
8. Read
Read a book, magazine, audiobook, article, or newspaper. Pick your poison!
*Royal Tip: If you are on the computer or phone all day due to business/ personal reasons, I would suggest choosing a physical copy to read.
9. Deep Breath
This task may seem mundane but think about it. How many times have you've gone into overdrive because you have 1000 things to do and don't know where to start? Exactly!
Just take a moment to focus and get centered. Then take 5-7 deep breaths to be in the moment.
10. Routine
For some people, this is the bane of their existence. If you are not one of these people then great! Create a small routine. Pick one task you've been wanting to accomplish. Break it up into smaller everyday tasks. Set your alarms and be consistent!
